This feature is good news, as the Windows 10 headlines continue to focus more on the frustrating updates that lead to bugs that freeze systems and interrupt functionality. Microsoft itself has revealed that “Cortana will no longer be included in the first startup experience or pinned to the taskbar.” So when you first set up a new Windows 11 PC, you won’t hear that annoying voice with phrases like “A little connection over there, a touch of Wi-Fi there”. Looking ahead, Cortana won’t even have a foothold in Windows 11 either. Whether they cede some territory to Alexa, Google Assistant, and (maybe?) Siri is a question that will have to be answered another day: we have full instructions for ordinary people and power users alike to help you get started. And now we have a way to turn it off on Windows 11 as well! It’s pretty straightforward to shut down Microsoft’s digital assistant, as the company continues to make it less and less prevalent on devices. Want to uninstall Cortana? You have come to the right place and we have good news.
